In the case of DAO, I was excited at first and was one of the people who invested in 'the dao' project.

But from seeing a few projects in action it seems like it all boils down to 'democratising the organisation' through different mechanisms for determining voting rights.

I personally don't think that is a good idea, I prefer anarchy to democracy.

I tend to agree. I think democratic pushes result in poor DAO experiences. I think the ability to form partnerships of n individuals enforced by a smart contracts has some yet seen benefits that are worth exploring. I belive the goal should be directing efforts in a way that isn't democratic but optimizes for actual coordination among the parties involved.
