*insufferable

whoa what do they mean grow out of ska music and hand jobs? 🤨

I love them both

Her books are still gold

The only thing I dislike about her books is that they're coming true - I don't want to live in the first half of Atlas Shrugged.

I wonder what you think about Frank Herbert's prose, he writes about different matters, of course, but I think his style is comparable.

Si bien no estoy de acuerdo con esta opinión, sí que aprovecho para recomendar el que para mí es una autentica obra de arte de la prosa:

I hear that a lot. Its not her prose that I have a problem with. I find her work repulsive... yet enriching, stirring and inspiring.

at least you read it! most people I know were taught to hate her without even reading her work

I've tried to read Atlas shruged several times and I could never seem to make it all the way through.

Try The Fountainhead. She's less angry writing it. Same idea - different characters - less.. in your face - shorter version - better read.

I've read both.

No hate on libertarians. I like some of what they have to say. Rand was terrible, but Goodkind was even worse. Wizards First Rule was ok; I'm being charitable.

Agreed; I couldn’t make it through her tedious proselytizing. In addition to the poor prose, her ideas don’t stand up to scrutiny. In philosophy circles, her name is always accompanied by eye rolls.
