https://emojito.meme/ is really cool and almost works, except it doesn't distribute the events it creates to your relays properly so it needs a little extra help. Besides that it works with Ditto and a handful of other Nostr apps.
I tried your link and i was able to add a little Bitcoin icon as a reaction. It's pretty useful.
The only problem is the icon doesn't work beside my username or in my profile description which is what I am looking for, maybe I can request on GitHub to amethyst to allow us to use that site emojis on our username and profile description.
Nevertheless, I'll be using it for reactions. thanks
You can also use nostrudel to create emoji packs and use custom emojis, just find the emoji tab at the "apps" section, but emojis don't work in usernames and also not in bios. they could work though but no clients support it :bitcoin: :transparent: :samourai: :monero:

You're right it doesn't work in the profile username and description. It's too bad because that's exactly what I'm looking for.
The Unicode Consortium has a monopoly on the emojis so we will only get whatever emojis they deem acceptable.
I might request on GitHub amethyst to allow us to use these emojis in our username and profile.
