And those good men lived without police for a very long time. The first police force wasn’t formed until 1838. They were originally intended to catch runaway slaves. Ironically, they exist today to control tax slaves.
Discussion
This entire discussion is based off of unrealistic optimism and naivete. Do not listen to a single word of this nonsense. As a father and war veteran, I can tell you that this opinion is an extremely shortsighted perspective. This actually frustrates me quite a but. 🤔
In case their was any confusion. I meant nostr:npub1m4ny6hjqzepn4rxknuq94c2gpqzr29ufkkw7ttcxyak7v43n6vvsajc2jl's opinion was shortsighted and naive. 👍
Don't worry, I always assume everyone disagrees with me.
I agree with you on this one 🫂💜 nature abhors a vacuum 💯 As a woman, I like my current safety and ability to roam as I wish under the safety of governing bodies. Do they need to be kept in check too? Yes. If they were completely abolished, then I likely would be too.
Without government freedom of movement would effectively disappear, for most women and children, or other vulnerable groups.
Also, the freedom to choose a mate or leave an abusive relationship. Although, I suspect some would consider that a feature. 😏 I don't.
You’re irreparably wrong about this.
About anarchy?
About assuming everyone disagrees with you. It was a joke but it didn’t land 😅
Oh. I assumed you also disagreed with me and merely responded to the wrong post. 😂
Didn’t even read the OP, just saw that note without context and couldn’t help myself 😅
I should be more specific. I assume that people who respond will disagree with me because the others just hit the "like" and keep scrolling.
I'm not the sort of woman who attracts enthusiastic agreement. I have a lot of talents, but I'm completely missing that one. I tend to attract enthusiastic disagreement.
It is, what it is.
What’s your opinion?
Governments are the largest mistake in human history. We've never had a genuinely well-intentioned and effective one. Those who took control took advantage of human laziness and used it for conquest. We're seeing the same situation today. With the same same consequences. 🤷♂️
I’ve heard compelling arguments explaining that monarchies are more effective. They’re not ideal, but at least with a monarch they need to try and keep the people happy so that their progeny can continue ruling under the same people. With our democracy/republic, the president is incentivized to milk the people as much as possible during his term because the next guy will have to deal with the problems. And the people hold the illusion that the next guy they vote for will fix the problem.
Wrong again! I shouldn't even have to explain this. 🙄
What is wrong? I’m not advocating for monarchy. Just saying I’ve heard some convincing arguments that it is better than what we currently have.
