Every client has to have some algorithm. Most clients have chosen to implement the “display content from follows in chronological order” algorithm.
Discussion
Okay, fair, you can call that an “algorithm” if you want to.
What he’s talking about is specifically a “discovery algorithm “
Nostr doesn’t need a “discovery algorithm” the whole purpose is to find other based on reposts of others, interactions, lists, and feeds.
Nostr is a protocol, not a product. The purpose is whatever each client decides to build on top of it. Not everyone wants to discover content through a chronological feed. Some people are even experimenting with alternatives to a feed. There will be many clients and algorithms to choose from.
