What's the easiest way to trade fiat for #sats & send to a #lightning #wallet WITHOUT giving a wallet or a site your bank account? Like use PayPal, GooglePay, or credit card. Previously I used Primal, but I don't wanna give it my nsec to it anymore, imma wait 'till they implement Amber or something.

I tried Strike but they not only want my identity (annoying but not problem) & only allow bank account hookup for fiat.

I'm running low on sats to zap ppl with. 😭 & I'm not trusting my entire bank acct to some random wallet. Getting a brand new bank acct just for this is annoying af.

Cashapp.

But it's also KYC.

There is no freedom.

I think azte.co/ gives you an option to pay for voucher on a retail store. I have not used that option though. Usually, I pay from bank account to voucher. My wallet is not involved until I claim that after paid.

I'm not sure if I understood your problem correctly but, have you tried robosats?

No. *Goes to google it* My problem is buying sats from stuff other than my bank account.

If you want Bitcoin, you're going to have to exchange fiat for it. Its either going to come from your bank and go to the person selling you sats (could be P2P and they don't need KYC, like robosats) or you can find someone in person and trade them cash or do a job for them and get paid in BTC. Probably easier to use a fiat payment rail over robosats or bisq. Non KYC sats isn't easy.

In robosats or hodlhodl you can buy btc making a transfer from your bank account, meeting with someone in person, or other methods (then one I use is a service my bank provide where I can get a code to take money out of an atm and I send that code to the person selling the sat

The thing is that in none of these methods you have to give your bank account to anyone

I've heard this mentioned. It's also integrated into the Wallet of Satoshi mobile app, so if you do all the account creation stuff in that app and choose buy sats it'll route you to this Moonpay. I tried but their AI couldn't parse my utility bill and gave up.

Holy shit that app is horrible! Not only it's the slowest app I've ever used, the "send" function is not working. I made the mistake of buying 20 euro worth of Bitcoin in there and now it's stuck in there. 😖 If you're not using it now, don't start.

Good grief, Charlie Brown. Thanks for the tip!

Someone here just recommended me this peachbitcoin.com where you can buy sats with no KYC, a peer to peer market model. People sell their sats with a markup over what you'd pay if you bought them though a KYC app, seems around 8% premium (you can set a threshold for the premium over KYC and see what offers come through for that threshold).

Test Flight on iOS and full app on Android. I plan to give it a go later on, will let you know if any luck

Thanks!

Yeah can't recommend this peach either, an offer shows, you tap, but turns out it's been claimed and not removed from results, and the app doesn't remove claimed offers from results for days it seems, so you never know which offers are valid. Seems neglected. Also pretty buggy. Makes more sense to just buy via Primal app and lose the 30%, offers on peach are around 20% anyway.

Dunno yo. Buying sats is just way too hard for new users. Did you manage to get that Moonpay to send out?

I did finally manage to move the money. It was all super slow and frustrating. I would definitely use Primal again, but I think they removed the option to buy sats from the app with the latest update. ☹️ Idk why. It was soo smooth and convenient. I made a new account (since I got rid of my first account where I bought with Primal 'cause I was too careless with my nsec) and now I can't find an option anywhere in the primal wallet to buy new sats.

#Primal , are you gonna bring the buying option back? Why'd you remove it?

Could it be you missed the little dollar sign icon top right corner in the wallet view? For me first time it had this big "Buy sats" button, then second time and beyond got to go via that top right icon, easily missed.

I don't see it. 🥺

Hmm, yeah, odd. Maybe you're out of country? They use Strike in their backend, are you somewhere outside of this list?

Robosats

To be clear, KYC is not the primary issue (it's just annoying and inconvenient). The primary issue is trusting my whole bank account access info to some random app or website that could empty it if they get hacked or someone steals my phone or some shit. That plus speed and convenience.

So use cashapp or strike. I dont think both jacks need to steal your money from your bank account 🤔

"How can I buy sats without having to use my bank account directly?" *Proceeds to offer two apps that require bank accounts yo buy sats* 😑

You have to connect your bank account. I use cashapp since 2016 its my primary bank. Never had an issue with "money" missing

You need an account of some sort to by on any non kyc btc because how you gonna pay that person the money. On robosats you pay the person through cashapp or stike.

You aint buying btc from no platform if you dont connect some sort of money bank to them

Getvon robosats and see who will take gift cards and do that on robosats

You're lucky with Cahsapp. Multiple people have reported duplicate charges at various points in time (as in it wasn't just a one-time bug and then they fixed it (https://www.newsweek.com/cash-app-glitch-duplicate-charges-negative-balances-1809278)

As far as them all requiring a bank account, that's not correct. I distinctly remember buying sats using Primal wallet using Google pay (looks like you can't anymore, tho) and I just now bought Bitcoin using Moon pay using a credit card (except I can't send it because their shit's broke). So it's possible to buy btc without a bank account hooked up. I just need to find the app that actually works.

Getting revolut is stupidly easy!
