Happens. Twice now for me when I went to primal.
Hey Troy, sorry that happened to you. This was a fresh Ditto server, right? Not ditto.pub or gleasonator.dev. What happened is that the brand new relay didn't have your follow list, so it created a new one.

We are working on fixing this issue that can happen on fresh Ditto servers. For now admins of new servers should import events from existing Nostr relays before inviting people to join their server.
If you are the adventurous type and like to try out new Nostr apps, I highly recommend going to metadata.nostr.com and making a backup of your profile.
Won't help you now, but once you have your follows set back up, it can save you a lot of time in the future.
Loosing one's follow list seem to be a rather common issue on Nostr, which has been discussed multiple times, indeed.
You need to fetch your kind3 notes.
For example, from two months ago this is still available (you need to check the "p" tags, not the relay list): nostr:note1jafr5pq8tec92a00xsgtmwyt56ynp0raf3gxrps5pewps4c3tahq2eew4s
Maybe you can try https://metadata.nostr.com
It should have a backup of your follow list.
