What if the US gov just claims the NSA invented Bitcoin and that they control Satoshi’s coins.
Complete “trust me bro” situation, similar to the gold in Fort Knox.
Then if the coins ever move they can say they were stolen from them and go after them with force.
Not at all saying I would want this but seems like a play they could actually make.

They would at base level have to own the keys if they invented bitcoin. So for me it’s a nah. Would be the NSA behaving like Craig Wright with even less association to the tech.

In the US it's the federales and states that control access to the overwhelming majors Ty of goods and services in the market, and so they decide what currency can be used to access them and how much tax will be paid etc.
Other nations control access to markets within their borders too.
While this situation remains unchanged, bitcoin can only act as financial instrument within the fiat economy rather than replacing it.
