Who is next? Will there be an election or appointed till next election.
There’s a leadership race right now. They will choose a new leader of his party. The new leader could be sworn in as prime minister if they secure the confidence of the house (a confidence vote needs to happen). If they don’t get the confidence, an election would be triggered. If the new leader secures the confidence they could also trigger an election, but they wouldn’t have to immediately.
Anyways, I doubt they’ll win the confidence vote.
We could be seeing an election as early as 2 weeks out. Depends on if Carney sacks up and dissolves parliament as soon as hes leader.
What would be his incentive to launch elections right away? I mean, he would already have the power
True.
My guess is that the CPC and NDP won't let that happen.
Confidence vote would likely be the first order of business.
Its honestly the longest resignation ever.
Almost like it was a misdirection.
It’s been 1 or 2 months now? I forget.
I was just thinking about this earlier today.
Bro wat is going on. This “man” goes on a virtue signaling parade while Canada’s in shambles - AFTER he said he’d resign, mind you - and somehow people only care about a hockey game.
Why is he still here.
The fact that people care more about hockey is wild.
The leadership race is taking way too long
You think it’s on purpose?
Feels very anti democratic imo.
I’ve never seen someone saying he’s resigning and proceeding to carry on with his day to day shit.
He managed to dodge legal action to get him out by promising he’ll get out, while still being here because of supposed infighting? And the other parties aren’t saying anything, at least to my knowledge.
Carney is Trudy 2.0, WEF scumbag extrordinaire. We're f*ckd 😐
He won’t pass the house vote of confidence. He’ll have to do elections, in my opinion
I hope yr right. I'll be very pleasantly surprised if that happens. The way things are going it seems to me that we're too far gone to turn around without something major happening, like becoming part of the USA. As nuts as that might sound, the alternative is that, as it stands, we've been sold to China by our own government
Certainly seems a tipping point
