If I didn't pursue my dreams I would be in the gutter today, or worse, dead. The living dead.

A decade ago i was in trouble with no home and no work after moving back to my own country. A friend gave me advice which works for him, to work at a place recommended me to his boss to do a kind of work not suited for me, not my skills, very out of place. I kindly rejected the offer and doubled down on finding a job which aligned with my dreams and talents. It made all the difference. That was an extremely important crossroads in my life.
And that something for you is different and unique from somebody else. And you dont have to live your dream. You just need a plan and a direction. Thats the important part. That you are going the right direction of your values.
I agree. Currently it's my side gig, but eventually I hope that it becomes full time. I would like to add, that for me, finding the right partner to share this life with was just as important.
That is the other half of the puzzle. Sharing your life with someone. Through my work i found purpose, and through thar I found my life partner with similar ideals, interests, values and aspirations.
Tldr, follow your dreams and you will find guidance.
