Just finished the tarts and now I'm exhausted. π
now time to argue with stupid people on nostr!
Everything hurts. I had a whirlwind work day, so my hands are swollen up. Can barely type. π€£
this is why i hate houses without bathtubs
a steaming hot bath is the best answer to every pain in the body
i have been denied this for 6 months, unfortunately
modern house... "modern" seems to mean uncomfortable
all the residential buildings until about 2010 in Madeira include bathtubs
i see bathtubs discarded in the goddamn farmlands that i trek around!
but today, no, apparently it's primitive and inconvenient to wait 10 minutes for a bath to fill up and melt your pain of the whole day in
i shake my head at the modern mind
i should add, that in #madeira, for the most part, it is considered normal to have as many bathrooms as bedrooms!
Wow, really? π
yeah, same rent as i'm paying now, apartment at the top floor in a suburb near the airport (santa cruz) had a bathtub with bubble pump and all, as well as a second bathroom with a shower, two toilets
and yes, i asked the owner and he confirmed it was normal for there to be 1:1 bedroom/bathroom on the island, and i haven't seen others but i can totally believe it, and i know there is at least 2 bathrooms downstairs
not only that, granite kitchen benches are normal too... commonly black granite, it seems, not just the bench but the walls around it, very easy to clean
the rental price is worth it for these luxury features, i just wish they'd put a bathtub in this apartment attached to their house, bastards
part of the reason for this is that this is a volcanic island, and there are several big quarries that dig up granite and slice it up all day long
i remember seeing it on the road up from camacha central to the airbnb i rented when i first arrived, loads of sliced shards of fancy stone just laying around
that's partly why in portugal in general, it is very common to see pavements and driveways composed out of shattered shards of fancy granitic rock slivers, it's pretty wild, but i think most of it comes from these volcanic islands
Some of us would love to agree if we could fit in one.
oh, well, i recommend beef. eat lots of beef, you will lose weight, there is stuff in the fats that will make you crave less food, as well as fats that actually feed you
only thing is, you need to eat more salt
there is a reason why salt was a currency at certain times during the roman era

I needed to get rid of lots of eggs, so I made the tarts and a blueberry spongecake.
The berries were picked from the field about 250m from my house.
Looks delicious π
Amazing
