Heh. Both? What type of work do you do?
I've tried on La Sportiva mountaineering boots on, they seemed to narrow for me. For hiking I have Salomon Quest 4Ds and love them. No break in needed at all.
The only red vs blue in my field is which boot is meant for mountain walking… (aku) vs la sportiva
