I got deplatformed from LinkedIn for using a proton email + a disposable phone number.
They can go fuck themselves.
They wanted me to try again and verify my identity.
I decided not to do that and build on Nostr instead.
Best decision ever.
Fuck the surveillance platforms.
Linked in is shit. I was there with a good CV and experience for years. Guess how many jobs I got from there?! Ha ha ... lol

I often wonder if emails with the protonmail email domain get autofiltered as SPAM by the bigger email platforms like Yahoo and Gmail and whatnot.
Feels like they would do shit like that just to spite those of use who choose to use not their spyware tech.
I use Proton almost exclusively now, never had an issue.

They didn’t ban you for breaking rules but for refusing to bow. LinkedIn isn’t about connection, it’s about control. “Verify your identity” really means “hand us the leash.” Choosing Nostr isn’t losing access, it’s reclaiming it. Surveillance platforms are digital feudalism; Nostr is walking off the lord’s estate to plant your own field.

I use a Proton email on my LinkedIn and never got banned. Maybe it was the disposable phone number. I don't use a disposable one simply because it's a professional network.

Similar story. Happens with a lot of mainstream services. I'm convinced that they've got 99.99% of their used tagged precisely due to cookies, fingerprints, etc.
I assume any user that's "unknown" is a red flag and automatically deactivated.

WHAT??? Proton mails are super duper mainstream.
I'm even using a simplelogin alias as my email and LinkedIn didn't bat an eye - but then again, I'm also not an active user and not verified or anything.
