Whoah, that flippening is huge!! That indicates that most people who keep their nodes up to date are choosing Knots!

Is knots really better though. I’m not convinced maybe I’m biased because of Luke being hacked and some other questionable comments he’s made throughout the years

That said I am glad there is some competition that is definitely a plus

It doesn't matter what your reservations are about Luke,

What matters is that it's not only Luke making the decision on your node software.

Luke is obviously championing a small/light-as-possible-block paradigm - and I'm here for it,

even though I didn't agree with him about segwit...

I do agree with Mechanic & Luke that Core competition is necessary & have been interested in knots for a couple years now - I just kept hoping he'd get some more voices in the room by establishing one or two more titled contributors.

I know funding is an issue, and I see Odell / OpenSats offering a grant to knots directly here on Nostr.

So hopefully this happens, as I think it's a great development for Bitcoiners!

I agree more competition for nodes is beneficial

I’m just a pleb who’s trying to keep up… I’ve got a start9 and have Bitcoin Core installed. I picked up a Bitaxe a bit ago, and if I’m understanding my options, I can run as the perpetual lottery ticket, or I can move to Knots, Ocean, and lightning payouts (and yes, I know payouts will be next to nothing). I wonder how many others like me are switching to Knots for that ability? I wish I understood the technical nuances, but in the meantime, just trying to learn.

You're doing great 🤟.

Just wait to upgrade your version of Bitcoin Core - not sure if Start9 is on auto update or not by default but yeah start there & panic less 😁💗.

Thanks. I tried to zap you in appreciation of the comment, but it’s failing…

I think it's great because it gives you choice, and other than some PRs that give you those choices, it's exactly the same as Core. You can set the spam filters and mempool policies that work for you.
