If this passport thing is true then I take it as a sign that he is steering in the right direction. I dont think you invite intellectuals if you plan to be a dictator. Just as Mao wiped a bunch out to establish his power.
My point was more to the fact that he has to offer something for free. Highly skilled individuals have the opportunity to go anywhere in the world.
Most desirable places make individuals buy property, start a business, or invest a certain dollar amount to gain access to a passport. And people are more than willing to pay these “prices” to have a passport from these areas.
One passport from a Eurozone member gives you access to a boatload of countries, free education for your kids, stability, rule of law etc.
It’s early, and yes he’s making changes, but giving away passports doesn’t seem like a “good” thing to me.
Yeah, we both know nothing is really free so what is the cost then? 🤔
