I'm not exactly a Bitcoin maxi (please don't hate me!) but I'm on here for the freedom and decentralisation.

I'm talking about Nostr with other open source / privacy people. Most aren't interested because it's too "coiner-ish", but as one or two come over the network will grow.

Agreed! The more discussion there is across a variety of topics the more welcome people will feel. There's plenty of overlap between open source/privacy/self hosting and coiners anyway ;)
