you have to install the browser extension and get an Alby account. And then once you're logged in there is this confusing spot in the settings where you'll see a nostr logo and can click it to "change your npub" that it assigns.

you swap that out for your nsec and then can use it as a signer in any client that supports it.

it is admittedly not intuitive

So I have to change it to my nsec? Is there somewhere to put my npub? I’m going to watch the tutorial the other guy commented, maybe that will explain it

Alby Hub is different than the browser plug-in. Alby Hub is for running a Lightning Node.

You give your nsec to the browser extension so that you don't have to give it to each website. Nothing can sign for you with only your npub.

no you don't have to change your nsec. You give your nsec to the extension and it uses it to sign future requests
