Everything looks so delicious! 🐶🐾🫂😋

I find that the stuff I get from the farmers market generally tastes much better than what you can buy in stores here!

It usually is, in my experience too! 🐶🐾🫡🫂

This is living

I can’t quite make out the steak cut from photo. The price I think looks to be about 44/kg. We pay around 100/kg for Aussie beef here in Singapore . Rib eye. it’s outa control

I only buy pure organic meat here and the prices are astronomical, but worth it!

What would you pay for a rib eye per kilo

I’m pretty sure I’ve paid around $65/70 per kg and lamb is around the same here

It’s all relative. For me I am saying that’s cheap. I remember as a kid lamb was the poor man’s meat. We used to eat lamb all the time and steak was a treat

I think rib eye would be about the same here although I don’t think they had any today. Their website lists a wagyu tomahawk rib for $110, that is a bit more than I would want to pay, lol.

It’s ok mate. Inflation is transitory

This is grass fed, the sirloin is $46/kg, scotch fillet was $60/kg. Expensive but much better quality than in the supermarkets so is worth it I think.

Much cheaper than American beef of similar quality.

You can get 100% grass fed steaks for $25/lb straight from the ranchers. Even less if you buy bull.

Where are you at pj

I’m in California which should have been noted.. everything costs more here than other states.

That’s where I am.

As in all countries when you buy direct from farmers you get to see how much money is going to the big corporates. The farmer has and always gets screwed. The quicker the farmer gets on the Bitcoin standard the better off he will be.

I’m in the us.

100%

This is why I buy at the farmers market, better quality product and the money doesn’t go to the big corporates.

Do any of the sellers accept Bitcoin/lightning payments

Unfortunately not but I think this sort of market would be ideal for farmers to accept Lightning payments. Most of them are using the Square credit card terminals since a lot of people don’t pay with cash anymore so would be getting hit with fees from that.

You have some work to do then.

Are there many places in Singapore that you’ve found that accept Bitcoin?

No. Most expats here are all fat dumb and happy and the locals are led by the government. Altho there are many people here who are bitcoiners.

There was someone I used to work with who moved to Singapore. I know he used to buy big boxes of processed crap from China and it sounded like that is basically all he ate..

Yes good quality here is not so good. Everything is imported and it’s shit by the time you get it

Hey #[7] - how is lightning integration on square terminals going?

The Square terminals are so common here in Australia, it would be great to see this happen!

#[6] Save the farmers!

$25 per pound is $55 per kg.. so depending on the cut these Aussie prices are probably cheaper.

$55 USD is about $80 AUD so yeah seems cheaper here.

Oh wow.. yeah definitely then.

Disclaimer… I’m a dumb dumb.

However, when I bought the half cow, it came out to just under $10/lb. Of course not all premium steaks.

Excellent. Farm market we were at this am yielded fresh bread, honey and cheese. Meat freezer already full. I have yet to find anyone that will accept sats in this rural community but physical cash is still strong (it has now completely disappeared in the city)

Loved the sweet potatoes sign 🫂

Hahaha I was just at the Wayville market too mate

I go there most Sundays although occasionally go to Willunga on Saturday instead.
