No one wants to fund library development and I see why. I have no idea how much funding to ask for when applying for grants. I know how much time I put into it and I know I probably wouldn't pay anyone to do it either. Weird spot. Applications are easy, it's easy to set goals and measure accomplishments. Libraries just kind of need to be there. Probably why every app developer just rolls their own crypto and existing libraries kind of stink.

Does Libsodium stink?
Why do you ask?
Just curious, I don't have a dog in this. I was just perusing github one evening and saw it was one of the larger crypto libraries. And used by some projects I follow
Yeah libsodium is pretty widely used and personally think it's very well built. It's opinionated which is kind of required unless you can afford an operation as big as openssl. I started a project using it before nostr then immediate wanted to switch in noscrypt and it got put on the back burner.
Cool stuff, thanks for the reply.
