#coracle is totally crashing on a regular basis for me now, just sitting there typing a short reply and bam, "Aw Snap: something went wrong while displaying this webpage"

it just does it after a while of the page running, my guess is some kind of memory usage related thing perhaps
This has been my life since the hellthread. I have wanted to leave, but I love coracle too damn much.
i use https://jumble.social now it's the only client that lets me actually test my relay and coracle's DM interface has been broken forever, and it never had a feature to delete or at least save state to not load a conversation i don't want to see anymore, which is super annoying for having to scan through everything all the time.
I use jumble.social for notifications only.
I am a global feed type of guy. Exploring individual relays has not been a pleasant experience for me. I prefer the coracle experience overall. It is just half broken right now.
Notifications are slow to load and many times mines are missing the most recent ones.
The android app crashes profusely randomly for no apparent reason. It has become unusuable. Had to switch to mobile browser with signing extension, or web browser on laptop. Increased stability somewhat, but it is still very broken.
I have to press the feed options multiple times like turning the ignition key on a stubborn car who's engine won't start. Then it may work as requested.
The followers lists keep loading slowly and have wildly nconsistent numbers. Seems more like I am going to count your followers to this random number and stop. So this is what you've got today.
Many reactions and responses from users will show up and say that I have one, but fail to load the reactions, say who they are from, or have the response from the person show up entirely. Feels like having an answering machine say you have a missed call, but I am not going to tell you who it is from, or play the message for you.
Overall things are very very broken. The daily experience is beyond frustrating. Even with everything being so broken. I can't leave, because I still love the overall Nostr experience on Coracle versus all the competition.
I may bitch and whine and make posts about it. That is only, because I am beyond frustrated. Wishing I could help fix things, but I do not yet have the skills to do so. Hoping for a miracle fix that solves all my problems. So I can have my ideal nostr experience.
i discovered i could delete notes and that removes the branches on that note. i don't know if those other branches just hang in the air or if there's a Nostr forest floor for disassociated notes
not that i think this is what happened in your case, but theoretically if you were typing on a note farther on the branch, it's like you fell right off the tree.
yeah, the nostr forest floor is just the lack of any kind of garbage collection for stuff that is now orphaned like that... pruning orphaned branches would make sense, though someone could quote post a node off the orphaned branch which would essentialy graft it to an OP... the orphaned posts will still also be visible on the users post history
hard to say what kinds of GC strategies would make sense for nostr's free-standing event structure
