I put a bid on a car auction for a cheap Toyota 4x4.

I'm winning the auction but realised the car's in Perth - 3600km away (54hrs non stop).

If I get it for $5k it will be a massive bargain but a hell of a road trip to collect it.

😂

You've got me by 600km. I picked up a cheap deal on a car in Port Douglas a few years ago and drove it home to Gippsland via the interior. Great chance to see some countryside. Do it!!!

I'm unlikely to get it but I will follow through on it if I do.

It just means I can't bid on any other vehicles until that one is done.

Hire someone to deliver n pay 💰.. Toyato cost 7000$ 😂💡

I think I'd rather pay myself 😆

Man, these older 4x4 cars are built differently. If you can invest the time to pick it up, I think it'll be worth it. Enjoy the ride, make it an expression of freedom, haha!

For silly admin reasons, I had to go on a 5000 km roadtrip through Europe this summer with my 4x4 Daihatsu Terios (Toyota owned company) and it rolled like a champ.

Once I got over the silliness of the trip - which after all was only a judgement in my mind - I could embrace the adventure and now think back to it with a warm smile.

I love me a Toyota 4x4 - diesel anyway.

The things just don't stop.

Where you bidding on cheap cars?

I'll let you know once this one clears.

There's a couple of places though. The ones in bidding on are ex mining vehicles.

Covered in dust & mud. Used & abused, but hopefully serviced regularly.

Used 4x4s have come right back down again & the mines look to be getting rid of their vehicles.

Grays.

Do a trip up to Exmouth while you are there. One of the most beautiful places on Earth that I've ever been too. Heck, I could join you if that's an option on the table :)

That’s a LOT of BTC podcasts. 🤣

It's almost worth it for that!

I'm not sure how I feel about driving across the country in a vehicle I don't know the history of though.

Lucky I was outbid last night 😆

I've been outbid on it.

No big car trip. Phew

Was not meant to be, Better things ahead.
