Here's how I perceive difficulty of activities in Bitcoin:

1 easy -- 10 tough

1 on chain hot wallet

1 lightning hot wallet lightning (custody)

2 custodied sats (exchanges, etc)

2 single sig cold storage

2 running Bitcoin core

3 lightning self custody hot wallet (mutiny, new Zeus, Phoenix)

4 buying no kyc

4 dedicated node (umbrel etc with no lightning)

4 multi sig cold storage

4 shared custody multi sig (unchained)

7 node with lightning and channel management

how would you add or change this

Multisig cold storage done properly is more like a 7 and LN is 8+

Yeah, lots of nuance to explore with multi sign, was just saying a basic multisig with 3 wallets and sparrow

If they’re three hardware wallets from the same manufacturer and generation, maybe, but you should not do that, you should mix and match devices so you’re protected from hardware risk

The added complexity of mixing devices is added security

And the punchline is that Sina made it all up. Everything. All of it. None of it existed before.

By all means though, untrue.

Node with lightning channel management should really be qualified as "routing node"

I think would be better if outfits like nostr:npub1rcjl48t72ecptwkupcgfgwvenl7sut8v48fnp65cyy93vfu8hmus6y6qfu and nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll would add an easy check box in their UI's that would let their users select whether or not they wanted a channel to route. A node for personal use is really what most people should be looking for. The routing is the hard part.

Agreed that is the hard part, was trying to spell things out so it's easy to understand what I mean
