Which is that Nostr in it's current state of being is not yet ready for the mainstream. This is now an everlasting stress test for the entire protocol and Nostr continues to fail miserably every day. There are very few if any Nostr clients that can withstand her might.

Think about this for a moment. If, but only 1 single hellthread can bring the vast majority of Nostr clients down to their knees screaming for mercy. Where none will ever be given. Then this is a fatal flaw in either the code of the clients we use, and/or the Nostr protocol itself being insufficient in NIPS to properly handle the load we are now bearing down upon it.

Never handcrafting the quality improvements required for their clients to be able to handle mainstream populations on the Nostr protocol.

If millions of people were to suddenly show up tomorrow, because they had no other alternatives to turn to. Nostr would become beyond broken. There would be new threads that would make the current hellthread seem like an absolute vacation. For what is a few hundred users in comparison to a few thousand. What if over a million Nostr users get in on the action of a hot new single trending thread?
