Let's talk about the dental industry scam :)

I went to a dentist in 2014 who was about to retire. He told me I had some small cavities, but didn't insist on filling them. He told me to focus on diet an overall health. For the past eleven years, I have taken his advise and spent $0 on dental procedures.

they don't tell you how teeth can heal naturally

For the first 30 years of my life, I only visited a dentist once.

I never had a cavity until the age of 32, 2 years after visiting a dentist for my fist time. I went a few more times and got a few more cavities.

Since then I have completely stopped visiting the dentist.

Never got a cavity since....

Must be all the alcohol I drink keeping my teeth clean and disinfected lol

many such cases, I suspect!

I believe it. Been suspicious since wisdom teeth removal. Was told I'd better remove them as they were growing at an angle. Forgot about it, teeth grew in fine, never looked back.

The other thing that really makes no sense is the cost of visits vs premiums charged. Dental tends to be a pretty small premium, and last time I checked 2 routine cleanings a year, if paid in cash would cost far more than premium collected from individual across 12 months. Implies most people aren't going, and yet everything's fine. I should probably verify this last claim, but I'm pretty sure

they told me the same thing, that my wisdom teeth were coming in at an angle, and I didn't question it and had them removed. it makes sense that they would grow in fine if left alone

It's the c-section of oral care

I felt this. Back in 2023, I had the usual checkup and the dentist told me I had cavities but he could not fill them until I had my wisdom teeth removed, despite the fact I never had any pain or other serious issues with them. In 2024, I had the operation to get my wisdom teeth removed.

What's funny is that despite him saying that I had cavities needing to be filled, I don't have any serious problems from them. The only problem I've had was teeth sensitivity, and I was able to fix that by incorporating calcium and vitamin D supplements into my diet and have not had any dental issues since.

it's been similiar for me. over the years since I opted out of dental care, I've had some teeth sensitivites, but as I've improved my diet, they have gone away

Interesting! I think I heard recently that the whole wisdom teeth removal insistence is basically a scam in most cases too

Ramiel Nagel wrote a great book about this topic.

That book looks good. There's also The Dental Diet by Steven Lin, and I've been informed on this topic by reading articles from the Weston A. Price Foundation.
