It's a bit of a paradigm shift. Particularly if you haven't already had a paradigm shift with bitcoin.

I'm also guessing that many people see no reason to leave the big tech platforms (or venture outside if them), even if they don't like them, because that's where their friends are. Or because they play the algo game and have invested a lot into the rat race.

Like banks, Big Social is sticky. Takes a lot to cause someone to look elsewhere. Beyond that, there are so many *alternatives* that if you have not had the paradigm shift and cannot see how Nostr is so much more than social media, it probably seems like *just another alt social platform* in an ever growing sea of options.

I can't seem to enjoy very much in thr legacy world anymore. Can't watch a movie without letting go. I hate shows too. I can't turn my brain off unless I smoke weed or go golfing. It's like an existential crisis.

Are you talking about recreation / rest when you refer to turning your brain off?

I experience some of this as well. Perhaps in some measure it is the result of a lowered time preference.

Being in the creative arts, I love cinema and the craft of filmmaking, but there are so few shows or movies my wife and I even consider worth spending a few hours on anymore. Part of it is our season of life, part of it is the degeneracy of so much legacy content, and part of it is that I would rather be creating than consuming, and find rest elsewhere.

I can't enjoy downtime. Maybe it's anxiety. I'm also a workaholic.

I am positively the worst boss I have ever had.

Gift and a curse my friend. Gift and a curse.
