We joke about the feds watching us, but the feds are using AI, not a guy sitting behind a computer.

I run a WoT relay, it pulls in all notes from my WoT, about 65k npubs, requiring minimal hardware. A 2 core VPS with 1 GB RAM is enough. My CPU barely gets used. It's a trivial task.

Does the NSA, or other govt agencies around the world, do something similar, with basically unlimited hardware resources to pull notes from every relay and use AI to process and correlate all the data? 🧐

Does ChatGPT encode markers into generated images linking them to the OpenAI account they were generated with? Could this eventually be used to link a Nostr account to a real world identity? πŸ€”

Anyways, I'm glad I've got local AI running.

God damn paranoia, maybe I need to start drinking again. The future is wild πŸ˜‚

I don't joke...

I'm not really asking questions πŸ˜¬πŸ˜‚

I've had the same thought. Nostr certainly doesn't protect us from surveillance, but at least it's permissionless.

Drinking doesn't help the paranoia πŸ€™

Just thinking out loud for people who don't think this way. I fear people get the impression Nostr is more private because it's not run by an evil company, when in reality it's not private at all, in fact the opposite. Signed notes, all out in the open for anyone to grab.

Won't be drinking either, that's a joke πŸ€™

Absolutely yeah. There are no privacy guarantees. Maybe we'll get better tools for that in the future.

Yeah, and nostr is also a permanent and indelible record of every note you ever publish.

YEAH FEDBOIS MUST CERTAINLY BE ALL OVER THIS STUFF AND DE-ANONYMIZING EVERY NPUB THEY CAN.

TO MY FBI AGENT: SORRY FOR BEING SO BORING. WISH I COULD GIVE YOU SOMETHING MORE TITILLATING, BROTHER.

Yeah drop some bangers I still got like 6 hours left to go on my shift

LOL GIVE THIS A WATCH, BUT GOTTA WARN YOU THE DIALOGUE SUCKS.

"IT WILL CUM. IN DUE COURSE, IT WILL CUM."

They don’t need to encode markers, a simple reverse image search will be enough. Governments will probably have ways to upload a picture to special portals of popular generative AI providers to get the personal details of the person who created the image.
