If you are eating store bought hummus, you are a sucker and poisoning yourself. The difference between homemade and store bought is an order of magnitude. And it’s super easy to make. Throw a bunch of ingredients in a food processor for 5 minutes. #foodstr

The only way to find hummus without seed oils is to make yourself. 😢

Yes. It's mostly soybean oil.

Yep. And a bunch of other fillers too.

Nooo it’s 100% pure olive oil!!!

(In a blend with soybean, canola, and/or sunflower oil)

💯

I fucking hate cleaning the food processor, but the result is well worth it.

Haha. I go spatula, hot rinse, dishwasher. It’s like the only thing I actually like the dishwasher for.

We made so much homemade hummus we got burned out on it. Haven't made it in months. It lasts a long time in the fridge too so we often made big batches. Way better and a fraction of the cost.

Agreed. We use it sparingly, but it does keep for a while. Gotta make sure we don’t get burnt out lol.

Homemade humus FTW. I gotta get my recipe up on zap.cooking! 🔥

Absolutely. Maybe I’ll get mine on there too. We can have dueling hummus recipes.

More hummus more better!

And more hummus’y!

checks out 🫡

Homemade hummus is the way.

Did you get some seed oils in there?

Absolutely not.

I have made this many times, it’s good on day one but can’t get it to stay good for in the fridge. What’s your recipe?

Key is to get a good seal when storing. It’s nothing unique. Just the basic ingredients, cumin, EVOO, chickpeas, salt, garlic, cold water, lemon juice, tahini. It’s just about making it at home so you don’t get all the crap they put in the store bought stuff.
