My take on maximalism is there is still far too much important, interesting, and challenging work to do in Bitcoin to place my attention elsewhere. Maybe one day that will change, especially as I spend more time in the space, but so far this rabbit hole seems to have no end.

So far.

It’s been six years for me. There is not bottom to the rabbit hole. There is no second best.

Any tips regarding where to find things to work on/build? I was working in web3 but it really pushed me toward bitcoin. I'm having a hard time figuring out what kinds of applications can be/need to be built with bitcoin

Yes!!! Love this question and welcome to this part of the bitcoin rabbit hole 😊🐇

I would start with the Chaincode Labs Seminar. It’s all online and you can choose between the bitcoin protocol and Lightning. It will give you a comprehensive overview and the foundation needed to follow along with more current news and discussions that happen on the mailing list, GitHub, Twitter, Nostr, etc.

It also introduces you to a giant community of builders and seminar alums that have all put in the “proof of work” ☺️ There you can find new projects to contribute to and people to collaborate on hackathons with. Inspiration awaits!
