Not sure, but I am tending to think that the whole creator, revenue, blah blah etc isn't what social media should be about. It should be about making friends, interacting, and finding content that you enjoy spending time looking at or creating? The whole viral lottery bullshit is what made social media turn into a dystopian shit hole.

I agree in the viral lottery thing, but creators should be able to make a living here. I don't agree with the "this is just for friends" part.

“Creators”… people that post on an obscure social network? Why are they entitled to payment exactly? The greed and obsession with money and bitcoin here is actually what’s driving so many away from nostr.

Right, but they can, they just have to build a following.. Nostr and zaps are just a messaging layer for future lightning services or memberships. I notice most creators make their revenue from extra sources like patreon. Isn't that how it would work in the future for nostr as well? The lightning services, such as having a membership to a special access, selling merchandise, or etc just need to be built out. Thinking like, twitch but without the ads (in which nostr is just the chat box).
