I don't understand this conflation of Bitcoin with ultra-libertarian/conservative values of owning high powered killing machines.

It's ok to support economic/monetary freedom via #Bitcoin and at the same time realize that there may need to be limits in the amount killing power that one person is allowed to hold in the name of freedom.

nostr:npub17u5dneh8qjp43ecfxr6u5e9sjamsmxyuekrg2nlxrrk6nj9rsyrqywt4tp, do you support the right of individuals to hold tactical nukes to preserve freedoms granted in the Constitution?

Yeah it's hypocritical. Every politician who's ever been elected has told a lie at some point. They're trying to appeal to everyone at the same time. An assault weapons ban would have a negative impact on a very small percentage of citizens in comparison, every citizen stands to benefit from his stance on BTC and property rights.

I do. “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Does not mean “government regulated.” or “individual.” Private armies have existed throughout history and the outcome of the revolutionary war would have been much different without them. I believe the 2nd Amendment was a warning that Governments always get too big and intended to allow for private armies with equal power to that of the federal government to exist in order to ensure the freedom of the people if the need to challenge the government ever arose.

A counter question, how can a Bitcoiner support a centralized government that exists mostly to grow itself and limit individual freedoms? There is more broken in the way the people are governed than our money.

Either you're for personal liberties or you aren't. I'll never understand people who are willing to leverage the state to enforce their preferences, but don't want their own rights stripped.

The only problem with the personal liberty of owning a mass killing machine is that there's no takebacks when it comes to loss of life.

So yea, chances are you are mentally stable toting around your AR-15, but the guy around the corner who drank one too many and got bullied for the last time by his boss may not be. Suing him to oblivion won't bring my dead kids back.

And when the state kills your kids, what then?

It's a shit argument, and it's the same logic someone else will use to monetarily enslave you or restrict your ability to speak or think.

Your kids can be killed effectively with or without guns. What then?

Yup. If only police can wield weapons, it incentivizes the people who want to commit violence to become police.

2A, like bitcoin, is about decentralizing power.

Being pro bitcoin and anti gun shows that you understand neither.

I go a step further and say the 2A is irrelevant, because the state never had the right to dictate what private indivduals own. The constition is just a document spelling out the rules the state's not going to follow anyway.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what laws they write, if you want my firearms, come and take them. BitcoinDad here doesn't have the nuts to do that, so he wants to use the state to enforce his will violently on peaceful people because he bought into MSM fear campaigns. The state is organized crime, and you're their bitch.

Fear based media cock gobbling mentality.

"The only problem with personal liberty..." Just going to stop you right there. Fuck off.

You seem angry. Maybe you aren't stable enough to own an AR-15.

Maybe you don't have the right to determine what any other human has the right to do?

Stup being a statist cùck.

Maybe if governments didn’t kill so many people I might agree

Yes
