Can we stop simping for politicians who say nice things about Bitcoin now? https://www.breitbart.com/2nd-amendment/2023/06/29/rfk-jr-says-he-would-sign-assault-weapons-ban-if-it-reached-his-desk/

Does that make him unelectable now….

Seriously. Just wait until Elizabeth Warren figures out all she has to do is read a PDF in Miami.

The danger of single issue voting, "The Orange Party", lies in the unintended consequences, as the relentless focus on one concern blinds us to the erosion of other cherished freedoms.

I don't understand this conflation of Bitcoin with ultra-libertarian/conservative values of owning high powered killing machines.

It's ok to support economic/monetary freedom via #Bitcoin and at the same time realize that there may need to be limits in the amount killing power that one person is allowed to hold in the name of freedom.

nostr:npub17u5dneh8qjp43ecfxr6u5e9sjamsmxyuekrg2nlxrrk6nj9rsyrqywt4tp, do you support the right of individuals to hold tactical nukes to preserve freedoms granted in the Constitution?

Yeah it's hypocritical. Every politician who's ever been elected has told a lie at some point. They're trying to appeal to everyone at the same time. An assault weapons ban would have a negative impact on a very small percentage of citizens in comparison, every citizen stands to benefit from his stance on BTC and property rights.

I do. “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Does not mean “government regulated.” or “individual.” Private armies have existed throughout history and the outcome of the revolutionary war would have been much different without them. I believe the 2nd Amendment was a warning that Governments always get too big and intended to allow for private armies with equal power to that of the federal government to exist in order to ensure the freedom of the people if the need to challenge the government ever arose.

A counter question, how can a Bitcoiner support a centralized government that exists mostly to grow itself and limit individual freedoms? There is more broken in the way the people are governed than our money.

#civildebate

Either you're for personal liberties or you aren't. I'll never understand people who are willing to leverage the state to enforce their preferences, but don't want their own rights stripped.

The only problem with the personal liberty of owning a mass killing machine is that there's no takebacks when it comes to loss of life.

So yea, chances are you are mentally stable toting around your AR-15, but the guy around the corner who drank one too many and got bullied for the last time by his boss may not be. Suing him to oblivion won't bring my dead kids back.

And when the state kills your kids, what then?

It's a shit argument, and it's the same logic someone else will use to monetarily enslave you or restrict your ability to speak or think.

Your kids can be killed effectively with or without guns. What then?

Yup. If only police can wield weapons, it incentivizes the people who want to commit violence to become police.

2A, like bitcoin, is about decentralizing power.

Being pro bitcoin and anti gun shows that you understand neither.

I go a step further and say the 2A is irrelevant, because the state never had the right to dictate what private indivduals own. The constition is just a document spelling out the rules the state's not going to follow anyway.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what laws they write, if you want my firearms, come and take them. BitcoinDad here doesn't have the nuts to do that, so he wants to use the state to enforce his will violently on peaceful people because he bought into MSM fear campaigns. The state is organized crime, and you're their bitch.

Fear based media cock gobbling mentality.

"The only problem with personal liberty..." Just going to stop you right there. Fuck off.

You seem angry. Maybe you aren't stable enough to own an AR-15.

Maybe you don't have the right to determine what any other human has the right to do?

Stup being a statist cùck.

Maybe if governments didn’t kill so many people I might agree

Yes

I don't think people simp for him for that, I simply think they simp because he's not a lying sack of shit, just a real politician and those have been missing for decades..

Yep, just another sack of shit that says whatever he thinks the people listening want to hear.

Get it yet guys? There are no good politicians. How many times do you have to be rugged to realize this?

sometimes is good to read past the clickbait headline:

"When RFK Jr. was asked about an “assault weapons” ban, the question was framed to reflect strong Democrat support for such a measure.

RFK Jr. responded, “If we can get a consensus on it, if Republicans and Democrats agreed and it passed Congress, I would sign it.”

He made his statement about an “assault weapons” ban just minutes after intimating that guns are not problem. He indicated that Americans have always had guns, and that Americans used to bring firearms to school for “gun clubs,” and no one thought of shooting at children.

RFK Jr.’s admission he would sign an “assault weapons” ban came just over a week after he used a New Hampshire townhall to stand against the idea of taking away guns.

In New Hampshire RFK Jr. said, “Anyone who tells you that we can end the violence to our children that’s going on now by removing people’s guns, in the margin that has been left to us by this very expansive Supreme Court decision [Bruen] is not being truthful with you.”

Moreover, on June 5, 2023, Breitbart News reported on a conversation between Elon Musk and RFK Jr., in which RFK Jr. said, “My position on gun control is that I’m not going to take away anybody’s guns. I’m a constitutional maximalist and the issue has been settled by the Supreme Court.”

Yup, rules not rulers.

The 2nd Amendment does not grant us the right to bear arms.

The 2nd Amendment DENIES the government the authority to infringe upon our right to bear arms !!

MOLON LABE!

He has always been a lowlife grifter. This time he just happened to glam on to #bitcoin. People are so gullible

Lol! You just said in your second sentence that you have a "right to bear arms". Arguing with yourself doesn't seem to work very well for you.

Vote local so it doesn’t get to his desk.

Literally better off stacking sats instead of going to the voting booths.

You’re not obligated to support any politicians.

This is also dumb AF.

This was eye opening. This is why we need to ensure debates still occur and everyone has a platform to share.

No kind of weapons ban would ever work in the USA. As the saying goes, ban the weapons, and then only the criminals will have them. Not a good idea. However, I do believe that we have the right to know that we are in the presence of someone that has a assault weapon. Technology is not here yet, but what if these type of weapons had some sort of tracking device imprinted in them. You could then have an app, that will alert you that there is an assault weapon in your vicinity. Good for the public and law enforcement to know if one of these weapons are near any public gathering. I would refrain from allowing my family to be present at any event that it was indicated that one of these types of weapons were present.

Corrupted politicians are just looking for consensus before your vote. After your vote they don’t give a dime about you.

As for Bitcoin corrupted politicians just want to put their hands on as they are afraid to lose power over you voters.
