It’s good to have some stuff in your car…when something happens you might not be home. A “get home bag”.
A few years ago we had a severe ice storm. It hit unexpectedly earlier than forecast. People were unable to get home because the roads were covered in an inch of solid ice. No amount of plowing or salt was going to touch that. It was 2 days before roads were drivable again. You lived in your car or walked 10 or 20 miles home in severe weather (and not on roads or sidewalks…you literally couldn’t walk on them) Think about your situation/climate/etc and particular scenarios that could happen and plan for that.
