The threat of competition will create changes in monoliths to keep their customers happy?

Exactly, I want more open standards than just Android. Google's recent encroachment on AOSP is the exact reason why I don't hang my hat on Android. Honestly, the partisanship I saw here during the Damus drama was pathetic (and I use Android exclusively)

I’m gonna use sideus on iPhone for now. Apple can slow down nostr, but they cannot stop it. Their efforts are futile

From the days of the Moko Freerunner and various QT phones I come, still waiting for ANY phone that will acceptably run Linux and reliably stay powered for a day while taking calls and texts. I’m still waiting. Pixel with Graphene is the closest I’ve come. Maybe Planet Computing? Nah. So buggy.
