How do people square the murder-for-hire stuff re: Ross?
Discussion
most probably don’t know or down play it
You’re projecting
“Unproven, unprosecuted allegations of planning murder-for-hire that never actually occurred were used to deny Ross bail, smear him in the media, and justify the draconian sentence he received. Ross was never tried for or found guilty of these allegations, which were officially dismissed later in 2018. The only alleged “victim” ever identified is a fervent supporter of Ross’s clemency.”
Is the claim that Ross never actually tried to hire a hit? That that "evidence" was entirely fabricated?
Yes. He never actually tried to hire a hit. The false allegation was used to juice up the sentence to life in prison x 2 + 40 years.
Even if we assume that Dread Pirate Robert's wasn't Ross, should it not be a topic of concern that someone Ross affiliated with was willing to facilitate a murder, even if said murders never happened.
Personally it's one aspect of the trial that muddies the case for me.
I think Ross was young, and foolish but he wasn't completely innocent either.
Personally, for Ross, I hope he improves, and use his skills for good.
It was faked but undercover agents.
Which part was faked?
Did undercover agents not bait Ross into attempting to hire a hit?
Or are you saying the "hit" was fake, but Ross did attempt to hire it?
There’s more information on this but I’ll need to dig for it.
“Right after Ross’s arrest, prosecutors in the state of Maryland filed a separate indictment that contained the only allegation of murder-for-hire ever filed against Ross. The indictment referenced an alleged hit on Curtis Green, a Silk Road administrator (more on Curtis Green below). For nearly five years, that indictment was left untouched, unprosecuted. Eventually, in July 2018, the District of Maryland dismissed it with prejudice, meaning it can never be re-filed or used against Ross again.[3][4]”
They made it up.
