Yeah totally, I switch over now, also check out https://cashu.me for your wallet. This works now on desktop and mobile well. Some quirks, but can be smoothed out.

This screen is super scary and took me trial and erroring to get setup and realize neither Damus nor Primal support NWC.

After the phrase, "You can only use NWC for payments from your Bitcoin balance. Payments will be made from your active mint." That "Copy to Clipboard icon" and QR code is totally easy to skip over but the missing critical piece to get NWC into snort.social for instance.

Once setup, this is smooooth!

why is cashu better than other wallets ?

I see two issues: lightning wallets require kyc and if without kyc, you must run your own lightning node, which is technically challenging.

And, like this alby lightning node, you do not get potential lightning payouts for others using your node.

Cashu works offline, is fast and avoids putting the KY in KYC haha

The biggest problem with Cashu NWC is the fact that you have to manually open the wallet to complete sending zaps. The whole point of NWC is that it integrates the wallet into your client so you don't need to leave the client to send the zap. But if you have to open the wallet anyway, what's the point? Receiving isn't a big deal because you automatically receive all your outstanding received zaps when you open the wallet, but it's not great for sending.

Thx for feedback. With my setup, once everything is wired together, zaps happen in-app/on-client

I use my own Lightning node now, but when I was using Cashu I had it hooked to Amethyst. The NWC connection was fine, but whenever you send a zap, you have to open the wallet and manually confirm the zap before it sends.

Maybe calle fixed it. It was a few months ago. And I haven't checked to see recent improvements.

I'm running my node on nostr:nprofile1qqsf07zg4hxyccnkdp07fppxmetpfzru3fg6mgzx3nk8r7af8qnjjygpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3qamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wd3skueqpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejsxj0y5x's cloud platform. They're the same people who run the Megalithic LSP. I'm pretty sure the software they use is custom.
