Agree 💯

Under 1%, no question.

<10% knows about #zap, and <10% has ever used #lightning IMO.

zaps got me to use lightning for the first time and now it’s (mostly) not scary anymore. Bet that’s true for lots of folks.

Heard of lightning, don’t use it. Discover zaps and “oh wow now I get it!”

Same here.. I didn't have the need of using #lightning before #Nostr.

#Nostr protocol will lead people to the #Bitcoin protocol.

met nostr yesterday, joined today, and got a bitcoin wallet _as a side effect_

and the wild part is that I also got zapped today

Welcome! If you need some support just write a note with your question and tag #plebchain

Feel free also to DM me if need, not a dev here but we are all #nostriches. Pura vida 💜🤙

Someone tweet this 😆

I've used it, sent from my node, for purchases before which is very cool. But yeah, zaps are going to onboard a lot of folks.

<10%

Wow I guess I still don’t realize how early I am to this 🧡💜.

Would think it’s maybe higher than 10% thought with just podcasts 2.0 and streaming sats and the like.

🤔🙈😅🤷😂

Whats a zap?

😮

🤪

What's a bitcoiner? Someone that owns or owned bitcoin in some form? If that's the case, probably half have probably never held their own keys. Significantly less know about and have used lighting and a fraction of that know of #zaps. Put me in the 1% vote.

<10%

corollary: what percentage of lightning users do you think know about zaps?

<10%

Of your average person, bitcoiner or not: <0.1%

<10% I guess

why not zappable poll ser

also better be at least 30% or there's a bigger problem

<10%

I’d say the amount of people who hold any bitcoin and know about zaps is less than 10%.

<10%

400k people on nostr. 300M estimated bitcoin holders (not bitcoiners cos they dont hold keys)

So maybe 0.1-1% is my answer

10-30% bitcoiners ?

Generous!

<10%

First

Depends how you define a bitcoiner. Anyone who owns bitcoin vs those who understand bitcoin

Would it make a difference in your estimate?

Definitely. A lot of people buy bitcoin as an investment. They are less likely to engage in bitcoin communities long enough to find out about nostr, let alone zaps.

I’d say up to 20% heard about and up to 10% used them.

< .0001%

I’m of a similar opinion

what are your numerical estimates of “bitcoiners“?

Haven’t really thought about it but if there are 17,000 nodes (wild guess) it may be safe to assume 3/4 represent a bitcoiner? I dunno. What do you think?

Maybe we can add the other 1/4 in for every non-node-running bitcoiner? 🤷‍♂️

Or is my estimate too low?

running a node is a very high threshold, imo, but i understand why you might choose it

i consider people who hold bitcoin IOUs bitcoiners who are earlier in their journey than node runners

but labels are always messy 😉

Promise holders definitely do not fit my definition of a bitcoiner but I’m no expert and know nothing 😛

yeah, there’s no right answer here, but i seek to include/welcome more people to “be a part of it” regardless of labels. i think it’s best for bitcoin to help people through the stages of education/understanding

If there’s only 17k nodes that would be very bearish

Also sad - so many pussies
