Mullvad. No kyc and you pay in btc

If anonymity is not a must, the service offers you a wide variety of countries, way more than IVPN and Mullvad and their service is excellent. They have a free tier as well.

They have a very good transparancy on their logging and what they can provide.
VPNs require some level of trust, but you can do better/worse. Like people are saying below Mullvad or IVPN are great since they offer some plausible deniability at least (allows you to pay with Monero/Bitcoin on their website over Tor and don't require an account or personal information)
Keep an eye on Nymtech too. They're in beta but doing some neat things it seems like decentralizing servers, injecting noise to obfuscate your activity, and offering ZK payments that will be unlinkable to which customer paid them.

i have heard good things about IVPN and Mullvad but have not personally used them.
Mullvad is good for privacy
If all you want is to mask your IP, and you're not interested in having many exit nodes, you can get a #VPS or two & setup a true VPN with #Tailscale, rather than paying for a glorified proxy. Those VPSs can give you other utility too beside network routing, eg. you can host a #SimpleX relay or turn server, etc.
