I think there is a significant distinction between being FOSS as a software company versus when hardware is in the equation. Completely different businesses when you have to figure in R&D, production, logistics, etc.

There's already a centralization aspect from what I've witnessed and hearing others concerns about it. What would moving away from open source look like and jeopardize? Is it fully open source now?
