On the whole btcclock/blockclock drama. I totally get how NVK feels, it was his baby. I imagine he agonised over taking action.

I also deeply respect Djuri and his building skills, and understand it must be horrible having a repo taken down.

Personally I avoid treading on other projects toes when building. I get in foss you can, but it doesn't sit right with me. There is plenty to build without replicating,

What I'm really looking forward to is Djuri building something completely unique and brilliant (which he is more than capable of doing).

Good take!

A block clock that is actually open-source and not overpriced is quite the change to what coinkite offers. I am not ready to pay that kind of money for basically a closed source IoT device that wants to connect to either my Bitcoin node or the www.

Ok, but there's no original ideas or designs nowadays.

Everybody is building on the shoulders of giants.

Yes we often are building on shoulders of giants, for which props should be made as much as possible. But there is plenty to build. I had 3 great new ideas today, with these new tools it's fertile ground for great ideas to blossom. We needn't be treading on each other's toes.
