I am observing Jardiance & Entresto prescribed together more frequently. Today’s patient is here for a fempop bypass and was taking both meds at home per outpatient cardiologist. Hospital doc disagrees and has stopped his Jardiance. Labs WNLs. Anyone have insight on why the combination could be dangerous? Did bro have DM2, or HFrEF? I see that combo all the time if one/both conditions present. The lit supports the use of SGLTis in those instances.
TBF IP doc may have stopped it only bc many of the renal-filtered meds get held on the inpatient setting on this side of the pond.
