How about a new nostr client: lurker

For all those who want to read only, not write.

Private follower list.

Private bookmarks.

No profile.

It’s called the “NSA”…

L.O.L. Funny, but probably useful.

Yes please. Asking for my friend. #nASStr n'all :D

Maybe lurker mode on Amethyst? It has multi account support already. #[2]

connect to a large paid relay, but don't pay

Maybe just do something else. Doesnt sound very productive.

Also only private lightning tips, no zaps attributed to the sender.

Since the amount of read only users on the internetis more than 10(0)x of those who do write, this client has the potential to be the most used one.

*lurkr, duh

Lurkstr?

Nosnd? ("No send" but also Notes and Other Stuff Not Divulged)

This does not have private follower list and private bookmarks though, right?

#[4]

I mean, it's a public view, not a client?

Good idea. Oddbean might already be close to this

Is it already running? What is it good for?

Don't all clients basically do this if you just enter an npub instead of an nsec?

Kind off, but in this case there are no bookmarks etc either.

Lurkers want to organize and remember their content as well.

disparaging someone for simply being private, isn’t a good look. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Your client leaks a lot of this info to relays when hitting them up, including your IP.

It also would mean when you use NOSTR to log into other apps, such as ecash, it would be missing that info.

Still I think it would be a popular feature.

How to create private follower list or private bookmarks?

Most clients already support this. Enter npub rather than nsec.

It doesn't have to be **your** npub, it can be anybody's. Lurk as anyone you want and see what they see.

We call them "the expendables".

Couldn't you do the same by setting up a profile and setting your relays to only use a local relay like Citrine?

I’m sure there are ways. This is what happens when you out the cart before the horse.

Is there a specification for private follow lists, or another solution towards the same goal?

Yes, it's simply an encrypted blob that contains the followers.
