I have to host some dinners soon... small groups... maybe 5-7, 10 at most. I'm on the hunt for fun things to make/serve.

Any suggestions? (Not necessarily recipes but those are welcome too. Bonus cool points if they're zap.cooking recipes)

As to a fun thing you could do gourmet or a hotpot making dinner a activity

Otherwise tho i recommend a stew like rendang or beef bourginon if the party doesnt like spice

I can't find laos here. Do you have any suggestions for an alternative? I was thinking maybe I could increase the other roots a bit?

Laos is often called galangal its like citrusy ginger so if replacing i whould use some ginger and maybe some lime zest
