So happy to be back with my van.

I lived in it for 1.5 years a few years ago. It’s my most widely productive office.

Razor focus.

Excited to code nostr stuff in it.

Freedom! πŸ€™πŸ»

Love it. Perhaps someday you could share your experience in detail. It must be very different. I am also planning something similar.

Yeah, I have a lot of unpublished writing from that time (I always enjoyed writing); I will probably compile stuff and give it form

NIP-23 ftw πŸ˜…

Wow, That would be awesome.

Nice place πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Time to swap living in a flat for living in a van.

This is amazing 😍

I can highly recommend. Changes your perspective on physical space, abundance, and what you think you might need in life.

I've been living in the sea of concrete for too long. The freedom to step out and be in nature is something I miss the most.

Do you have any pictures you can share of what it looks like on the inside? For inspiration ;)

I’ll search for some and post them here πŸ€™

Would be great, thanks!

Enjoy the island and the weather

Love the van! πŸ€™

VW California.

Rides like a car; sets up as an RV. Two double-beds, 2-stove kitchen, fridge, sink. Roof raises so you can do the dishes standing up.

Mega rad.

Any solar panels/battery for energy?

It has three camper batteries so it can run for a long time on those; I always wanted to add solar panels on the roof but never got around to it.

I have the same van and love it. I played around with solar for mine and found it best not to have panels mounted on top because you have to be in the sun to charge them while I prefer to be parked in the shade. Better option for me was to have a portable solar system with long cables, but it didn’t collect as much power.

I remember this from a few years back. Not sure how it would manage off road, but novel idea nonetheless!

Is it set up with a 5G or satellite connection?

Pretty sure my productivity would asymptote to zero if I didn't have access to StackOverflow...

yes

it's called tethering from my phone

Got it. My $10/day Verizon Global Travel Pass definitely ain't doin' for that use case.

The last day of #[3] I used up my 512MB of LTE data in the first few hours and was crawling at 2G speeds for rest of that 24hr cycle.

US is shit for that; super expensive data plans with shit service and coverage.

Everywhere else I’ve been, you find unlimited 4G for a couple $ a day

Starlink

This is why I travel with a little pill container full of sim cards...

Also, eSIM πŸ˜…

Currently eSIMs kinda suck. If they fixed them so you could have an unlimited number of eSIMs, that might be different. But for now they're terrible.

Very cool. You have photos of the inside?
