It took me some time to watch this. It was hard to see the relationship between the mother and daughter.
🍿It’s Friday! 🥳
Starting today, rather than showing our usual Friday Shorts 🩳, we will be showing a short season of documentaries! 🎬🧡🍿
To kick us off here is the fantastic Grey Gardens from 1975, directed by Albert and David Maysles.
Watch it here 🎟 :

Sorry for the slow response, Alexander.
I know what you mean about their relationship, it’s dysfunctional to say the least, and it can be difficult to watch at times. I think that’s what makes it such a great documentary though, and what makes the Maysles brothers such wonderful documentarians, their films are always so wonderfully balanced, so funny and yet so sad, and despite their subjects appearing so vulnerable, they always seem to depict them with great respect.
Have you seen Salesmen by the Maysles brothers? I think it has a similar feel, tragic and hopeful.
