No matter the scenario, bitcoin. Unless all electronics would die suddenly, but in that case you're living in a world where currency will be the least of your concern.

A few of many reasons: because it is the hardest to create, has an actual limit to its supply, and there's no ceo that can just change its parameters or functionality.

a hard cap is another tradeoff that nobody is sure will work out. there are good reasons to have tail emission.
There is no best, any of them could have issues.
If you pick a cryptocurrency, electronic infrastructure failing could easily prove you wrong.
If you pick gold or silver, you could easily be refuted by mass confiscations like they did in the great depression era.
If you have to pick one, there would be a "least bad" one, but I'm not sure what I'd pick. Maybe silver.
How about a crypto pegged by gold or silver?🤔
The question ends up being how to design it to disincentivize gold thieves and incentivize gold custody
I hold some PAXG which was a shitcoin leaving these problems unsolved last I checked 😶🌫️

I bet Gold would be the best. Since gold is most independent from technology. But depends on the amount and time you want to store the value.
