I don't think waiting several hours is being impatient at all.
Just didn't know it took that long. If I did, I'd have waited.
Until your wallet syncs up to the block the tx was in it will show zero your wallet only knows what happened up to 13XXX blocks ago.

Is background sync on cake wallet automatic or do they need to do something in settings or leave the app open to sync?
I thought you needed to turn on background sync in Cake.

It's not on by default you have to go into the settings to turn it on. You sholdn't need to leave the app open to sync. A notification will pop up every now and then letting you know it's syncing. It worked great for awhile for me but recently been hit or miss. Sometimes it won't sync. Maybe has something to do with me using GrapheneOS
