I'm always surprised at how big they get. Plans to chop it? If so, how many times before it goes to bed in the fall?

I'm thinking on chopping 1 plant at a time every 3 days or so. They're blooming so well that I don't like the idea of cutting them all at once but i think a managed rotation seems like I could get a few cuts on every plant over the season. We usually hit a really dry spell from June through August here, so I am not sure how quick they'll rebound come summer. Some will get dropped in place and I'll probably fill a bucket to make the stinky extract liquid.

I like that plan.

If I recall, you have an established comfrey operation. Do you have a protocol?

I had to give it up when we moved. I was doing Bocking 4. Had hundreds of them that I had propagated from a dozen root cuttings. nostr:npub1ugnq57hn8va6xqr5zywy2eunem6c624583vkt0dmv40ep7tnnxkqrr898l has my root stock now so I can vouch for his Bocking 4 line. He also has Bocking 14 which is better for forage.

Here is the episode I did on comfrey:

I believe mine is Bocking 14, I bought it from Akiva Silver. The Bocking 4 is sterile too isn't it?

Yes. B-4 is sterile.
