I took a HP T630 Thin Client I picked up used for $30 and turned it into a #tor only WiFi access network device. A RT5370 usb antenna dongle gives me decent WiFi coverage. Will do a how to guide on the ZeroSentinel Shadow in a week or so.

Tested on a iPhone for compatibility.

So basically whatever device you connect to that network is by default on Tor? If so, interesting!

Good idea.

Nice work. Everyone thinks "raspberry pi" for simple single purpose devices like this but often old thin clients offer much greater bang for buck and are way easier to flash while having x86 compatibility.

Yes, just Debian server under the hood. The thin client would make you hate life as a desktop but it was 1/3 of the price of a pi 5 and way more powerful.

I love recycling ewaste. Old workhorse office towers make good servers and mini computers are great nodes and services.

Could you make a one similar for i2p?

Don’t know. Probably. I don’t see why you couldn’t.

I have always wanted to set up something that would allow you to connect to a Tailscale exit node and have all traffic route through tor from any location. It seems like it should be possible but I don’t have the technical chops to do it.
