Some people took this personally and responded w needlessly aggressive replies. Gatekeeping is such a bore.

Most people understood my sentiments.

And it does seem that a lot of people do agree with it and don’t feel as much a part of the NOSTR community as the few. Perhaps we could all do more to foster that community feeling.

I agree w the sentiment that you’ve gotta give to receive. I use NOSTR in a very focused way. I simply don’t have the time to hang out like the early days, but a lot of people have asked me to continue posting news, so I will.

Far from expecting anything in return or feeling entitled, I wanted to get some feedback on the dynamic here and give other people the chance to voice their opinions.

Thanks to everybody for your thoughts and continued support.

I’ll do my best to keep us updated here.

Cheers 🍻 🙌

You are a legend. So glad you are on Nostr.

everybody is out there sucking Otistic Elon's cock, thats the only thing I can think of, Cock sucking so en vougue u r just finding out brotha, so woke, so bored ape instant engagement, instant followership crew, pathetick Archie, go blow them, loloooooooooooooooooooool

😂 chill out bro

Curate who you follow. Nostr is a zero social algorithm protocol. And there’s more on Nostr if you look around. Plus it’s super early days. Numbers are relatively very small. With its key pairs and focus on decentralisation etc, Nostr naturally has attracted a significant number of bitcoiners and devs (perfect for your readership and increasing your engagement!) and they do have the loudest voices here but that’s ok; they built and are building most of it. If that’s too much noise for you, mute them, stop and look around otherwise you can miss the gems. As for “Likes”, my view on them has changed. They’re one of the core problematic “metrics” with social media, especially on a psychological level. They do not measure belonging or community or worth and fixating on them can reduce self-esteem and increase anxiety/stress. And if too much value is attributed to likes (which I think is the part of your original post that triggered some) it leads to fishing for them. So you might find more and more users disabling likes and enabling zaps only mode here.

Anyhow, just my two satoshis worth of feedback.

Right! I’m off out for a delicious and ice-cold Guinness! 🍻

This is a place where the irreverent gather. Expect no quarter, no sympathy, no grace, and no love and you can only be pleasantly surprised when it occurs. Welcome to the internet.

I liked your content on Twtr. API changes this year meant I couldn't access. Glad you're here. Zappy zap zap

Keep up the great work!
