Hey frens let’s make a poll! I’ve noticed and frens have messaged me about certain participants I won’t name who, telling their communities to vote for them in return for a split of the prize.. some may say it’s bribery others it’s brilliant, whatever it is, I want you to decide that for yourselves! So we’re gonna have a vote & if you say it’s not permitted then it’ll become a rule from now on! But if you say it is then I guess it’ll be encouraged!!! Voting will be done by replies! Reply with (Yes) for it should be permitted, Reply with (No) for it shouldn’t be permitted!

And for the record I think it's biased anyway because largely followed accounts have an obvious advantage when they repost even if they don't offer to split.

It's not that big of a deal but just wanted you say it anyway.

I hear you but I’m not gonna be the one voting, ever.. and since we all have an understanding that there’s no algorithm here everyone can truly be seen if their meme is that good bc most of us look at global not just our feeds then no need for me to decide or any council.. idk what do you wanna suggest tho ?

I know. I was just saying there will be a bias. Not to criticize what you do but the fact that we are allowed to repost introduces a bias. But there's little you can do about it, you're not gonna check that's as well.

Good idea. I tried to think of something but it's hard to fix that issue except asking for the participants not to repost, that you're the only one to do it I'll the last 30 min, and hope everyone will be a gentleman but is it the right way?.. Idk...

Another solution would be to make a rule that the winners need to share 50% with the people who voted for them to participate in future contests. This would encourage engagement and distribute the rewards, off-setting a bit of the bias generated by the larger accounts. Everyone wins!

I’ll ask the community what they think about it in a few, but idk how forcing anyone to distribute the prize will help in any way.. I’ll leave this to the community to decide 🫡 appreciate your input a lot!

No - I think telling people to vote for them to get a cut should be outlawed. However, I think it’s within the winner’s right to do whatever they want with their prize once they win it. 🤗

Man, we really need a Nostr poll (ahem #[3] #[4] )

Also, #[2] what if it was anonymous? Everyone DMs you their meme. You post it on a carousel, and then let everyone vote. Votes would be like your yes/no vote that you just did here, not based on likes.

Let the memes stand on their own! Don’t let follower count, like harvesting, or anything else manipulate the contest!

I was legit just having fun and you got all butt hurt cause I was poking some fun.

I did say likes are fiat because exactly what you are saying happened, turned out to be right. People are begging for likes to win or bribing people. I agree that an anonymous poll or something is best. I was trying to help and you took my joking as an attack.
